My mother, Kimberly, taught my siblings and I a very high level of daily and weekly cleaning that was meticulous and a part of life. She and her sisters were cleaning homes at a young age for money, as well as cleaning their kitchen floor on their hands and knees with a butter knife -- the level of detail is profound.
My mother passed away when I was a teenager. Her favorite flower was a daisy. My daughter’s middle name is Daisy, after her. The meaning behind the daisy is to bring joy to those who are in mourning. Although this may seem morbid, it really meant a lot after my mother passed. The phrase, “fresh as a daisy” has always been a favorite moto as well. A clean home brings more joy than most gifts, no matter what season you are in.
To the mama who raised my mama and her mama, thank you for teaching us what it means to have a home as fresh as a daisy. Cleanliness is truly a special gift.
As much as the gift of professional cleaning blesses, some may not be in a place financially or physically to receive this service. The Free Cleaning Program is one of the ways we make an ordinary service such as cleaning, extraordinary. We love to love on people and take something so stressful and time consuming off their plates that they can't take off themselves. This service was inspired by the act of love that was shown to my family when my mother was sick. We had a friend who cleaned our house top to bottom once a week, for free. I have been honored to pass this forward many times, and am thrilled to expand it further.
